Trustee Malcom Ward 'DHET was privileged to be part of the glorious celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first flight of the de Havilland Moth. Held over 2 days at Old Warden in Bedfordshire, the event drew aircraft from across Europe and visitors from around the World. DHET's own aircraft, Tiger Moth G-TIGA, played a central role in the work up for the spectacular formation of 16 Moths of various types, depicting the digits 100, before breaking to reform as the more usual Tiger Nine. DHET Trustees and volunteers were kept busy with a steady stream of visitors to the DHET stand, where they could view a cut-away de Havilland Gipsy Major engine, try their hand at wire-locking, or take a closer look at a de Havilland Chipmunk, parked right next to the stand, courtesy of the de Havilland Moth Club and our hosts for the day: the Shuttleworth Trust.'
